Cosplay

The Cosplay Competition and Parade is an I-Con tradition. Here you will find the rules, guidance and a form to sign up!
Cosplay Rules and Conduct
Cosplay is not Consent
-
Please do not take pictures of cosplayers without asking permission first
-
Please do not touch cosplayers without asking permission first
-
If a cosplayer does not want their photo taken or to be touched please be respectful of this
If you are made to feel uncomfortable in any way, please come and report this to a staff member asap and we will take the appropriate action.
Air conditioning
Since the venue is a new building, it is supposed to be self-cooling and there is no air conditioning that the I-Con staff can access. However, with the amount of attendees, the self-cooling is not reliable. Considering how hot it was last year, we do ask you to bear this in mind when choosing your cosplay, to being water and a hand fan if necessary.
Toilets
There was a lot of confusion last year but the toilets at the school are unisex. The only separated female/male toilets are in the reception area of the campus. There is also a larger disabled toilet in the reception area. The toilets in the main I-Con areas are quite small, so if you have a larger costume, I would recommend using the toilets in reception.
Family Friendly
I-Con is an all ages family friendly event so please consider that when choosing your costume. We expect coverage equal to either a bikini, one piece swimming costume or swimming shorts. For those wearing skin tight suits, a dance belt (available on Amazon) is highly recommended.
Misc Costumes
-
We ask that any costumes or props do not exceed 2 metres by 2 metres as we do not have a secure area to store oversized pieces and do not want anyone to struggle to get around or overheat.
-
If you are wearing a costume with limited visibility, please bring a friend to act as your spotter/handler and help you navigate.
